No

Note

If your device needs both to trigger an InformaCast scenario and to register with InformaCast to receive notifications sent by the InformaCast scenario. Therefore it shall satisfy the combined requirements for both tasks.

Question: How to set an Algo device’s volume in InformaCast?

The following settings affect your device’s volume, listed in descending order of priority:

  • Notification-specific volume setting (in Notification Profile Settings (Optional) → On-Premises Server → Audio Settings → Volume)

This setting applies only to scenarios that use a Message Template containing this notification profile.

  • Volume setting in the IP Speaker configuration (In Recipients IP Speaker IP Speaker Details Volume)

  • Default device volume for automatically registered Algo devices (in Admin → Settings → IP Speaker Configuration → Automatically Added Hardware IP Speaker Volume)

IP speakers can range in volume from 1 through 12, with 12 being the loudest. The default of 10 is the maximum normal volume at which an IP speaker is capable of playing. Setting the volume to 11 or 12 will cause clipping, which can lead to audible distortions in sound.

For example, if the volume is set as follows, the device volume will be 9.

  • 9 in Notification Profile Settings (Optional) → On-Premises Server → Audio Settings → Volume.

  • 8 in Recipients IP Speaker IP Speaker Details Volume.

  • 7 in Admin → Settings → IP Speaker Configuration → Automatically Added Hardware IP Speaker Volume.

Question: Why does my Algo IP Display not display the screen as mapped by the Priority setting in InformaCast?

By default, the screen is mapped to the Priority value in InformaCast in Notification Profile Settings (Optional) On-premises Server Audio Settings Priority in your message template.

However, in the following cases, the image selected for the Notification Profile Settings (Optional) On-premises Server Text Settings Icon displays:

  • The option Use Screen Settings Based on InformaCast Priority Field in the device’s web interface in Advanced Settings Admin is disabled.

  • The option Use Screen Settings Based on InformaCast Priority Field in the device’s web interface in Advanced Settings Admin is enabled, but the value isn’t valid for your device. For example, the Priority is set as 25, which is not a valid value for Algo IP display screen patterns (1-10).

Check these problems and retry.

Question: To use Algo Multicast along with the InformaCast scenario, if both sides include an audio announcement, which one takes precedence?

When the InformaCast scenario is triggered, audio from InformaCast and the audio file selected under Tone/Pre-recorded Announcement start at the same time. However, the Multicast Zone determines which audio takes precedence:

  • Priority Call: The audio file selected under Tone/Pre-recorded Announcement takes precedence over the audio from the InformaCast scenario.

  • Other Multicast Zone: InformaCast audio takes precedence.

For example, if you selected a 10-second audio announcement for Tone/Pre-recorded Announcement and the audio from the InformaCast scenario is 5 seconds long, then if you select the Multicast Zone as:

  • Priority Call: Users hear the 10-second audio announcement from Tone/Pre-recorded Announcement.

  • Other Multicast Zone: Users hear the 5-second InformaCast audio, followed by the remaining 5 seconds of the Tone/Pre-recorded Announcement audio.

To ensure the best results, select an audio file for the higher-priority source that is longer than the one being overridden.

Question: How is the mapping between the Priority in InformaCast Notification Profile Settings and Algo device behavior?

If you have enabled 'Use Screen Settings Based on InformaCast Priority Field', the Priority value determines your IP Display screen and the IP Strobe flash pattern.

The Priority value is set in your Message Template in Notification Profile Settings (Optional) On-premises Server Audio Settings.

Because the Priority range is 1–100, but the IP Display screen range is 1–10 and the IP Strobe pattern range is 1–20, ensure the Priority you choose falls within your device’s supported range. Otherwise, no pattern will be triggered.

Note

For Algo IP Display, to allow the InformaCast Priority value to decide your screen content, you must enable Use Screen Settings Based on InformaCast Priority Field in the IP Display’s web interface in Advanced Settings Admin.

Otherwise, the Icon (if set ) configured in InformaCast message template is used for the output. The icon is configured in Notification Profile Settings (Optional) On-premises Server Text Settings Icon.

For example, if your device group includes both an Algo IP display and an IP Strobe, the following happens when a scenario is triggered:

  • InformaCast Priority set as 3:

    • IP Display: Screen #3 is applied, as defined in the IP Display’s web interface in Advanced Settings Admin InformaCast IP Speaker.

    • IP Strobe: Pattern 3 is applied, as defined in Algo IP Strobe’s web interface in Basic Settings Strobe.

  • InformaCast Priority set as 15:

    • IP Display: No screen is applied.

    • IP Strobe: Pattern 15 is applied, as defined in IP Strobe’s web interface, Basic Settings Strobe.

  • InformaCast Priority set as 25:

    • IP Display: No screen is applied.

    • IP Strobe: No strobe is applied.
